Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
UNBURDEN is a private place to set down what you're carrying. This page explains, in plain language, what we keep, why, who helps us run the service, and the control you have. The short version: your words belong to you, we never sell them, and nothing is kept unless you choose.
Who we are
UNBURDEN is made by Remedy Circuit LLC ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy go to founder@remedycircuit.com or by mail to Remedy Circuit LLC, 701 West Redondo Beach Blvd. #1051, Gardena, CA 90247.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text).
- What you tell us during setup: your intention, timezone, and preferences such as theme.
- Your reflections: what you write in a release, how heavy things felt before and after, the support style you chose, and what you decided to keep.
- What you choose to keep: saved insights, memories you approve, and patterns noticed from reflections you saved.
- Safety signals: if a message suggests someone may be in danger, we record that a safety check happened (a yes/no flag and a category) so we can respond carefully. Our logs never contain what you wrote.
We do not use advertising, tracking pixels, or analytics services. The only cookie we set keeps you signed in.
How your words are used
- To write UNBURDEN's replies to you, in the support style you chose.
- To check each message for signs that you may be unsafe, so we can share crisis resources.
- To build insights, memories and patterns only from what you chose to keep, and only while those features are switched on in Settings.
We never sell your information, never use it for advertising, and never share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who helps us run UNBURDEN
A small number of companies process data on our behalf, only to provide the service:
- Anthropic (our AI provider) receives your messages to write replies and run safety checks. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its AI models.
- Supabase stores your account and data in its database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the app.
- Our email provider sends account emails such as sign-up confirmations and password resets.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm. We will never otherwise share your reflections.
What we keep, and for how long
- Let It Go: the words of that release are deleted. We keep only that it happened and your before/after ratings.
- Save the Insight: we keep a short takeaway; the full conversation is deleted.
- Save This Release: we keep the full conversation until you delete it or your account.
- Memories and patterns: kept only with your permission. You can edit, forget, or switch them off at any time in Settings.
When you delete your account, everything connected to it is permanently erased from our live systems right away. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a short period (up to 30 days) before they expire.
Your choices and rights
- See and download everything we have about you: Settings → Privacy & Control → Download my data.
- Correct your details in Settings at any time.
- Delete your account and all of your data: Settings → Privacy & Control → Delete my account.
- Switch off memory and pattern features whenever you like.
Wherever you live, you can contact us to exercise these rights, and we will not treat you differently for doing so. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every account can only ever see its own data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.
Adults only
UNBURDEN is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.
Not a crisis service
UNBURDEN is not therapy, medical care, or an emergency service, and it cannot send help to you. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger. More help.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
